Glenshellah ~ Portsmouth

Wow! Glenshellah is definitely one of Portsmouth’s hidden treasures! Located off of High Street on the shore of the Western Branch of the Elizabeth River, Glenshellah boasts magnificent stately homes with beautiful lush lawns.

When we talk Glenshellah, we are not talking the typical home, like the other 20 you may have walked through in your home search…. we are talking huge chef style kitchens in some of these fabulous abodes, royal cathedral ceilings, massive great rooms, master suites -not master bedrooms, large decks for entertaining, plenty of space for children and loved ones, and a beautiful lawn for “man’s best friend” …. all at the shore of the Elizabeth River, and averaging 2800 square feet of fabulous living space!

The wonderful homes of Glenshellah vary in age, with some of these homes being built as early as the 1940′s, but completely modernized and beautiful. However, some of these gorgeous homes are less than 15 years old. Some of the older homes feature beautiful wood work, elegant fire places, staircases that any prom-queen would love to show off her new dress walking down, and lovely parlor style sitting areas for visiting with company.

Glenshellah is located in the Churchland High School district of Portsmouth, home of the “Truckers”. Churchland is also a magnet school for the Visual & Performing Arts for dance, chorus, orchestra, band, drama, and the visual arts.

I find it interesting that kids in Glenshellah go to a school where the mascott is a Trucker! Churchland Truckers. Now that is interesting. Glenshellah sounds like a pretty neat place too.

Glenshellah sounds like a lovely community in Portsmouth!
