Billy Wilson, brother of Ann Old, developed a portion of Old Drive in the early 1950′s from the cozy family farm he and his sister owned, and as a result a few comfortable houses were built.

T. Ray Hassell, III. bought the remaining farm land and developed homes, naming it Wilson Heights in honor of Billy Wilson’s family. To honor T. Ray Hassell’s contributions to Great Bridge, the Great Bridge Bypass is named after him. His widow, Ann, remained living in Wilson Heights.
