Wingfield Pointe

Are you looking for deep water, a cozy family friendly community with an upscale way of life in a comfortable setting close to the interstate? Then look no further than fabulous Wingfield Pointe in Chesapeake, just south of Interstate 64.

Developed by Virginia Beach businessman William Wingfield in the 1990′s, Wingfield Pointe boasts some of the most attractive homes in the Deep Creek area. Each home has it’s own perks, like stately cathedral ceilings, classy wet bars, romantic fireplaces, expansive sitting rooms, convenient dual heating and cooling systems, dual staircases, sparkling swimming pools, amazing waterfront boating access with docks, and beautifully screened in porches for enjoying a comfortable evening outside.

The average home in Wingfield Pointe (if there is such a thing as average in this fine community) has approximately 3000 square feet of lovely living space, yet some of the grand homes of Wingfield Pointe boast as much as 5000 square feet of marvelous living space on expansive lots.

A wonderful community to raise precious children, Wingfield Pointe has no “through traffic”, because each peaceful street in Wingfield Pointe dead ends. Your cherished children are sure to enjoy the lively play park of Wingfield Pointe, Kristina’s Park, located on Bluewing Lane. Kristina’s Park was named in September 2008, after young Wingfield Pointe resident, Kristina Marie Kral. Sadly, Kristina passed away at the age of 7 from a rare pancreatic cancer in November 2006. The park, which previously existed and where Kristina once happily played, is now dedicated to her memory.

The welcoming community of Wingfield Pointe is located in the heart of the Deep Creek school district. Deep Creek High School, was once upon a time, a one room school house nearby the current location. Believe it or not, the original school was destroyed during the Civil War. In the early 1900′s after a new building was constructed, Deep Creek used horse drawn carriages to transport children to school. – But never fear, the modern state of the art school today, is not one where your children need to worry about having to go to school behind a stinky horse! As of 2011, Deep Creek High School has even added a new Science and Medicine Academy as they celebrate their 100 year anniversary.

In the 1990′s, Deep Creek High School was known for their winning football team. Today, they are known to have a very competitive track and field program. Some of the notable Alumni of Deep Creek include James Anderson, Deon Dyer, Deangelo Hall, and Chris Crocker of the NFL, along with Evan Stewart, a meteorologist from our local WVEC Channel 13 News.
